[Interferon treatment of chronic hepatitis C: basic immunobiology and immunopathology of the liver].

چکیده

This article reviews the main aspects of chronic hepatitis C (epidemiological, genomic related to enhanced molecular understanding of the life cycle of the hepatitis C virus, HCV) especially standard therapy with pegilated interferon α and ribavirin. Emphasis is also placed on the immune response of the liver to HCV and the assessment of liver fibrosis via transient elastography.
